IntestinalIntestinal Proteases: Opportunity for Drug Discovery - Understanding the role of proteases and their inhibitors in the pathophysiology of inflammatory bowel diseases

About IPODD

The inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are chronic relapsing and remitting inflammatory disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.

Despite current treatment's efficacy, many patients require surgery for refractory disease or complications.

We aim to delineate the role of intestinal proteases (host-derived and bacterial) and their inhibitors in the pathophysiology of IBD.
